Mangaka Naoya Matsumoto continues to crank up the stakes with this latest kaiju battle that forces the vice-captain to step up and demonstrate his raison d'être among the Japanese Defense Force. Kafka Hibino goes into the background but is pushed to his moral limits as his actions will have grave consequences going into volume 5.Once again, mangaka Naoya Matsumoto brilliantly balances action, humour, and individual growth in another pulse-pounding volume in what's bound to become a phenomenal sh...

With masterfully illustrated action and incredily important revelations, this manages to mix heart, tension and combat in a way that keeps you absolutely hooked. It takes a big step narratively, meaning that the events of this book will likely shape what's to come for the next few volumes. Each entry raises the bar higher, although it's hard to see how this could be topped.

I'm having an emotional breakdown right now. I had cried that tears are streaming down my cheeks and snot is coming out of my nose. I had my heart beating so loudly because the intensity of this volume is even beyond 10. And I enjoyed every bit of it. Everything about this volume is just excellent! The continuation of Raid on Tachikawa Base arc is nothing but perfection! I love that I finally see the side of Mina that believes in Kafka. And may I have the opportunity to say that she's so freaking...
9/10 starsEven though there are still some slogans that sound at once a bit funny and adorable in English, Kaijuu no 8 keeps going great. The resolution to the crisis brewing for the last two volumes was surprisingly swift, but the probation period for Kafka seems to be shaping up according to the Chinese curse about interesting times - it's very interesting indeed.Kaijuu no 8 is an incredibly fast read; I've ran out of chapters already. The art is very clear and dynamic, and Matsumoto seems to

FuuuuuuckUgh this is so exciting!! They're not giving me a chance to lose the tension.Man this Chief is hardcore AF, I wonder how Hibino is going to get out of this situation because it seems like he is also starting to lose control to the monster.
