Hard.Harrowing.Insightful.I never realised how important all that motherly: swaddling, patting, rocking, swaying, cooing, singing and smiling ......was.It is sad that the absence of these basic human connections in the first year can sometimes cause irreparable damage.How different our lives can turn out, all pending on these first years of life.Loved the brain science behind the theories.

Dr. Perry makes it easy to understand trauma and the brain through stories. Important read.
