This gave me anxiety too many characters all with a secret I couldn’t keep up and got confused alot. I also didn’t like the ending but I did enjoy the whole mystery/plot/twist!
Addictive and full of suspense. This novel despite being relatively short (6 hours) packs a lot of entertainment. I love the secrets, lies, and despicable characters, really nobody to like. Somehow they captured my interest. Okay, there's one character I liked, turns out he/she lied too. When push comes to shove, they lied some more. So who can you believe? NO ONE. Our Little Secret is mainly told from three POVs. Michelle, the sheriff's wife, that one lady who knows all that goes around in town...
This is a solid mystery, Modglin is a queen when it comes to twist endings and this one definitely has twists galore. Stephanie reports seeing a car go into the lake one night. No one in the town seems to want the lake searched, so they go to lengths to question Stephanie about what she saw--was it really a car or could she have just been overtired? Stephanie's husband is missing. She's a single mom to twin teenagers who are out of control. Did Ted leave her for someone else?Enzo's wife was murd...
In a nutshell: It’s twisty, alright. You’ll enjoy the book if you love a twisty thriller. That’s it. Main USP: Twists galore.Story:A small town named Cason Glen. Here you’ll meet: 👉 Sheriff Judd Rivera, his wife Michelle and daughter Caroline –each hiding a secret. 👉 Neighbour Stephanie and her 17 year old twins Raphael and Dominic –each hiding a secret. 👉 Mayor Enzo, and his niece Sophie – hiding a secret. 👉 Stephanie’s missing husband Ted: hiding a secret.Basically, that’s the plot of the book...
Modglin outdid herself in this incredibly addictive, truly dark and twisted story. I was hooked from the first page. The characters keep their secrets close to the vest, just like Modglin, and it's a remarkable skill she utilizes to weave this expertly crafted web of lies. Our Little Secret kept me guessing, revelation after revelation, all the way to the intense and shocking conclusion. Don't miss this captivating and unpredictable book that remained on my mind long after I finished.
Love so many of Kiersten Modglin's books, just didn't care for this. Not a bad mystery, but the truly heinous, despicable characters except for a couple, if that, was just too much for me. I also just don't want to read about misogynist, sexually inappropriate, abusive men or teenagers. I will always look forward to Modglin's books, full of twists and turns, and every author can have one that just misses the bar.
So many secrets! So many lies! No one can be trusted in this tale of murder and betrayal. Under the surface of this idyllic small town lies a dark and disturbing reality that is close to being revealed. Who are the “monsters” of this otherwise peaceful setting? The final shocking twist I never saw coming. The narrators expertly brought the story to life and added a layer of intrigue and suspense. Thank you NetGalley and OrangeSky Audio for my audiobook.
My twisty queen @kierstenmodglinauthor is back with another new book and you guys, this one has some of my very favorite elements; small town secrets, devious characters, a whole cast of unreliable narrators and a break neck pace that made this a one sit read. This was such a fun and suspenseful read, this was me while reading 👉🏻🤔🤯😮😫😬I’ll leave the synopsis below, but if you haven’t read a KMod book yet you must, they’re so good! This one is out next week, but if you wanna try one ASAP pick up T...
* Accidentally delated when cleaning off my shelves - recopied from my original NetGalley review on 10/10/21 * The plot centers around the mystery of a beloved missing teacher, husband, and father of twin boys. What ensues is nothing short of a jaw-dropping entanglement of multiple mysteries and secrets all entwined together. The conclusion seamlessly brings to light multiple (long kept hidden) insidious cruelties. Tying together all unanswered questions into a perfect - psychologically mind-mend...
I listened to the audiobook which ran just under 6 hours. The story was quick paced and full of twists right till the end but I did not like any of the characters at all who, in a nutshell, were all different levels of sociopaths. The two narrators, Mandy Kaplan and Wyatt Baker, did an overall decent job of narrating the book but I did find Mandy's southern accent for a couple of characters a bit annoying. My thanks to NetGalley, the audiobook publisher OrangeSky Audio and the author Kiersten Mod...
Cason Glen is a small town that is seemingly perfect. That is until someone goes missing from one the town’s most exclusive neighborhoods. Of course panic then ensues among all of the neighbors. How could they just go missing? Will I be next? And then the dark side of the neighborhood starts to come to light. There are secrets that all of the neighbors are holding and at what length will they go to to keep it that way? Does anyone ever really tell the truth?OUR LITTLE SECRET is another brilliant...
4.5 starsSo many twists and turns in this suspenseful thriller. It was also a fairly short book that I listened to in half a day. Kept me gripped to the very end.The story takes place in a small town where everyone has grown up together. When the beloved Mr. Turner, a well respected teacher, goes missing, there are rumours he left his family and ran away with another woman. As time goes on, secrets start to unfold and uncertainty sets in. It seems every one is hiding something. Best going in bli...
