I love this series on audiobook, it's very entertaining, but I have to admit that the books start to blend into each other. But I have always been a big fan of Letty, Lucas's daughter, and her first book was as crazy good as her dad's.Looking forward to more....
I’m giving this 3.75 but can’t lean to a 4. If you are a hardcore Lucas Davenport fan you know Letty’s story and you know that Letty is Lucas. She was tough the day she was born, hard by the time she was 10 and earned her place in Lucas’ heart. I had no problem believing the character in this book and I may even continue to follow the series but I am growing weary of Sanford showing his political leanings.
If you’ve read John Sandford’s novels about Lucas Davenport, you’ve undoubtedly read about his adopted daughter, Letty. Her experiences as a child are rehashed in The Investigator, so even if you don’t remember her, or never read a Lucas Davenport novel, you can discover Letty’s past. That past life led her to her current experiences. She has skills, and she has a mentor to help her polish those skills in this new book.Letty’s only twenty-four, but she’s not ready to settle for a boring job in W...
Letty the Bad-AssReview of the Penguin Audio audiobook, released simultaneously with the G.P. Putnam's Sons hardcover (April 12, 2022)It has been quite the journey for predator hunter Lucas Davenport's adopted daughter Letty. First introduced as a feral wild-child survivor in Naked Prey (Lucas Davenport #14 - 2003), she grew up through a Letty-the-kid-reporter phase to be an emerging bad-ass at the conclusion of Stolen Prey (Lucas Davenport #22 - 2012).Breaking the up-until-now reliable 31-year
Lettie is a chip off the old block, her adoptive father and former head of the Minnesota BCA and current U.S. Marshal Lucas Davenport. Lettie has killed three people in her short life: her mother's killer and two more defending Lucas's wife and son. Bored with working for a U.S. Senator, she quits after some unorthodox (illegal) activity to get results. The Senator tears up her resignation letter and sends her and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) investigator John Kaiser to Texas to investi...
Absolutely fantastic.I loved this book as much as I have always loved the Lucas Davenport series. I think Letti will be a whole new environment that works for me.Love how this series is going…5 out of 5 stars thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this ARC.POSTED TO Goodreads 2/01/22Publishing in April, 2022
Please note that I received this book via NetGalley. This did not affect my rating or review.Well I DNFed this at 35 percent. I could not force myself to keep reading this one. I don't know how a new series starring Letty Davenport was so boring and also repetitive in equal measure, but it was. Letty has never been my favorite (see prior reviews of Lucas Davenport series) and this book didn't make me want to get to know the character more. Sandford really does turn her into a Mary Sue similar to...
