Rachel Lynn Solomon has quickly become one of my favorite authors, so I was super excited to grab a copy of her newest book on Edelweiss. The plot of See You Yesterday isn't particularly innovative—a college freshman finds herself stuck in a time loop—but rich characters with fantastic chemistry and plenty of quirky plot twists keep this one fresh. It's about Barrett, a plus-size Jewish girl who was hoping that her first year at the University of Washington would be a fresh start for her after a...
Well well well, this is the quirkiest, the sweetest, the most entertaining, the most scientific and romantic execution of Groundhog Theme. This book’s plot was more similar with Palm Springs, Russian Doll ( two guys stuck in the same time loop) than Happy Death Day ( only similarities the events take place at the college but thankfully no serial killer involved) In my opinion this is so far best Groundhog Day theme retelling. ( I loved it more than “In a holidaze” , “How to save a life”) Time
I want to start out by stating that Rachel Lynn Solomon is an auto buy author for me after reading The Ex Talk in February of 2021. I immediately went through her backlist and loved each of them for different reasons. That being said, I automatically requested this one when I saw it available on Netgalley!I wish I had read the synopsis a little more closely prior to requesting, because the trope of this story does not usually work for me. I find the storyline of living each day over and over aga...
slow burn enemies to lovers + time loop set in college 😏 » thank you to netgalley & simon & schuster for an arc !!
ARC received! Thank you, Simon & Schuster for Young Readers. I'm so stoked for this one!🖤💖🖤💖🖤💖🖤💖🖤💖🖤💖🖤💖🖤💖🖤Original:Time loop Romance with a Physics nerd!?!?It's true that I will read anything Rachel Lynn Solomon writes, but this sounds extra especially perfect for me!!!
This was so different than any other Rachel Lynn Solomon I’ve ever read but definitely not in a bad way. This is still a contemporary with a time loop and it was very good. I will say at one point the same day over and overwere a little boring but then things start to get different and it gets a lot better. Loved the ending so much and I loved Barrett and Miles.
A huge thank you to the publisher for an ARC!*Note: this is an HONEST SPOILER FREE REVIEW* “I could wake up on the same day a thousand times, and every single one would be different because of you. Every single one would be life-changing. Because of you.” My rating: 4.5 starsI already wish I could go back in time and read this book for the first time again. Maybe the universe will play a cruel joke on me tomorrow and allow me to relive my day once. Just once. Unless you throw Miles Kasher-Okam...
4.75 ⭐️ rounded up!Thank you so much to the publisher, Simon & Schuster and to Rachel Lynn Solomon for sending me an ARC copy of See You Yesterday!I am a big fan of Solomon’s Today Tonight Tomorrow and when I heard of See You Yesterday, I had to have it!!!!I am truly in awe. I adore this book so much. The concept of the time loop was so fun and fascinating! I loved reading through the days and seeing Barrett and Miles friendship and relationship grow. Everyday was a new September 21st for them a...
4.5 starsDespite generally hating time travel and time loop plot lines, I requested an ARC of this book because I absolutely love this author's writing, and I'm so glad I did. Despite its obvious plot influences, like Groundhog Day, See You Yesterday is such a perfectly unique story. Rachel Lynn Solomon quickly got through the "required" parts of the plot, like the main character realizing she's in a time loop, and rather focussed on character driven moments, which allowed the characters arcs to...
See You Yesterday is a standalone YA novel (could also be considered NA) set in college, releasing May 17, 2022! Some of what you can expect:- rep: plus-size Jewish main character, Jewish and Japanese American love interest- content warnings: PTSD, panic attacks, sexual harassment (past), bullying (past)- enemies to lovers- time loop chaos including but not limited to building an on-campus ball pit and adopting a bunch of dogs to give them the best day ever- slowwwww burn- my favorite first kiss...
3.5 starsThis was so cute! I've enjoyed pretty much everything that I've read by Rachel Lynn Solomon before, and See You Yesterday was no exception. This story works so well because of its premise, which has definitely been before, but which I think Solomon does particularly well: the stuck-in-a-time-loop plot. Our two leads, Barrett and Miles, find themselves stuck in a time loop in their first year of college, and on their first day of classes no less. This setup, then, allows for the story to...
thank you so so much simon and schuster for the arc!4.5 stars 🌟 rachel you have done it again!!! this story is PHENOMENAL! i had so much fun reading it! you know the feeling of getting giddy and kicking your feet like a school girl? that’s exactly what i was doing during the moments with barrett and miles! i absolutely adored barrett and felt for her as we got to know her backstory and what happened to her her senior year. and miles ugh my heart couldn’t take it! i liked how we saw him come out
Warning: this book will give you intense flashbacks to your freshman dorm, a strong craving for mozzarella sticks (even if you don't like cheese), and a six-pack after laughing your abs into shape. It's Palm Springs meets Today Tonight Tomorrow in the best way. "Time is helping me recognize who I'm supposed to be, only I'm not sure who that person is yet. Whatever the reason the universe singled us out, Miles and I found each other in this strange echo of a world. And that means something."* I...
Thank you so much to Simon Teen for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review!I didn't like this one as much as Today Tonight Tomorrow, but it was still enjoyable for the most part. I'm also not a fan of Groundhog Day trope to begin with--I feel like it starts getting really repetitive at one point, which is obviously intentional, and the same happened here where some of the ways Miles and Barrett spent their days felt like plot fillers. I also wish there was a stronger hate-to-l...
rachel lynn solomon has done it again everyone say thank you rachel read for- groundhog day time loop (ft. physics! explained in layman's terms)- enemies to lovers ft. forced proximity- slow burn- lovable, complex characters you can't help but root for- wholesome while still not shying away from serious topics- getting caught in the rain - he bandages a wound for her........thank me later- they accidentally gave us the honeymoon suitethis book was so fun. it's barrett, a college freshman hoping
oh to be able to break into rachel solomon’s laptop and read all of her unpublished manuscripts
ok but i need this book now, like right nowno, scratch that—i needed this book yesterday (see what i did there? ;D)
currently sitting in the library resisting the urge to giggle and scream over this book MILES AND BARRET MY LOVES🫶🫶Thank you net gallery!
Rachel Lynn Solomon never disappoints! This was such an endearing and entertaining story. After a difficult high school experience, Barrett Bloom is ready for college to turn her into a brand new person. When her first day goes wrong in almost every way, she wakes up the next morning determined to start fresh. The universe grants her wish when she finds out she’s been transported back in time to start the same day over and over and over again, but she’s not alone in this time loop. Her physics c...
Barrett was excited for college to begin. It was her opportunity to shed the damage of high school and start anew. After the worst-first-day-of-college-ever, she awakened to find she was reliving that disaster day, September 21, again and again. She also found she was not alone in this loop.If I could bottle was I was feeling when I finished this book, the bottle would be filled with happiness and joy. This was far from my first time loop book, but the loop combined with Rachel Lynn Solomon’s st...
