Living Beyond Bullies

Living Beyond Bullies

John Hardt
0/5 ( ratings)
Living Beyond Bullies is a first-person examination of bullying that took place in the 1970s and 1980s. It shows how this type of violence can prime one to become a target of greater violations. In my case, this would be the target of a rapist. It also explores the long-term ramifications of these events. We explore the world back then, as well as the world of bullying as it is today.

I went from being pushed away from the church by people living within its walls to being brought back to faith by an atheist. I came to see a world where anyone can be a bully or the victim of one. I also discovered that one can be both, at the same time. I hope that after reading this, each of us can become better at being observant of those around us. We can be prepared to advocate for others and to treat even those who oppose us with respect. We cannot change those who stand against us if we allow them to change who we are. Standing up against bullying by becoming a bully does not end this crisis; rather it expands it. Hate begets hate, as love begets love. We cannot allow others to define who we are.
