Another great issue, this is what Snyder excels at. Great characters with good dialogue and not a messy convulted plot. The Liam background. The fight on the plane. The ending. All great stuff.
ehI had hoped this would get better but it’s kinda getting worse as it goes. I won’t bother with the next one.
More world buildingThe second issue is told from a different point of view and is harder to relate to. It also seats more into superhero territory. There is a nice tribute to a classic scene from "the thing" and a nice surprise at the end.
I think this is really cool so far.
colorful, simple, fun :)
Great readThe writing and the art are great. Can't wait to read issue 3 to see where the story takes us.
Art, excitement, wit: it's here and it's entertaining. The ancient story of good and evil, godfolk and demonfolk. Halo and Horn. It's crafted to a degree that enthralls.Unfortunately, this is a story about faith in humans, with demons aplenty, and no God to father those that want to make the world a better place and make eternity a home for the weary. Truth and Faithfulness are used interchangeably throughout scripture but in this tale, Faith is about the individual's Truth, different from perso...
Nice artwork and a fresh angle on good/evilI am really enjoying this book so far. Artwork is great especially the horn demons. The story is a fresh take on good and evil. The action and suspense so far has made this a real page turner.
A fun second volume. Again, the main draw here is Greg Capullo's awesome pencils but the world Scott is creating is intriguing and I'm interested to see where it goes.
BrilliantA great second issue to the Snyder/Capullo team. Keep it going, guys! This is the new wave of comics, free from the confines of DC and Marvel.
It's good, but mainly because the art is good. Snyder takes the story in an interesting direction but forgets that you need the characters to act like real humans.(view spoiler)[I gotta say that this chick was pretty chill when she found out that her father's partner bit her with his demon fangs and THAT was the reason her father had to hack her arm off.So much wrong with that entire scene.First, how did she deduce that out of thin air?Second, even if she wasn't angry and Gus (since he couldn't
Wha - ????What was that???Pretty damn cool, not really following the backstory but Lynny likey! Some kind of group - Glories? - who fight ancient demons, who can infect humans and who have very bad language and table manners. One of the demons - Gus - wears a "halo" so he's as powerful as the demons but he's a good guy.Cool.
I read this book via Kindle Unlimited. And here we have yet another Scott Snyder Comixology series I have become obsessed with and have to wait for issue by issue for. I should really know by now I only should read comic series if they're complete huh. Basically, Lam is training with the Glories and they are heading the source her father pinpointed that should have more Halo to create new blades for them to fight the demons with. But when their plane is ambushed mid-journey, they have to asses
But what is faith? I mean when you get down to it. Is it a belief system? A leap? What causes the chemical reaction that makes Halo light up? Cash and I discussed it many times over the years. Often over a glass of wine, more often, while wiping off demon blood. He believed it was a conviction. For me, though...it was always more of a feeling. When a new Scott Snyder series drops I tend to sit up and listen. This series is another ComiXology original and is being released exclusively by Amazo
Can’t wait for moreThis is such a great series. A little crazy and over the top, maybe, but it doesn’t take itself too seriously, which keeps it funny amid all the action. I love the characters, the plot, and can’t wait to see where it’s going.
it's good to be different I like the idea of “We Have Demons” the concept is an original idea. It's different than anything I've read before. 🤔 well, maybe its kinda like “Spawn”? But who doesn't like Spawn?
Review in last part
Good foreshadowing, but the payoff was too soon. Nice backstory added to the tale all over. I’ll stick with the story as long as it is this good. Way too much reliance on cursing, tho. Overdone.
3.5. Still enjoying the story, but the Halo female-bodied people are a bit too fetishized in some panels for my liking. Like, everyone is wearing tight bodysuits. But it's EXTRA on them. It kinda distracts from the rest of it.
