Enemies in Transition

Enemies in Transition

Michael Murphy
0/5 ( ratings)
When Tom's Aunt Rita died, she left her house and everything she had to him. The only problem was the house in question was a big old Southern plantation-style house — filled by a true hoarder. Tom takes one look and realizes that his plans to be in and out quickly are out the window. And being back in his hometown was not easy since it made him face the town where classmates tried to kill him ten years earlier.
But even worse, when he tries to hire local muscle to help him clean out his aunt's house, who showed up at his door but one of the guys who'd sabotaged his car ten years earlier, sending it out of control off the road and into a lake. Tom wanted to run the other way, fearing his former classmate wanted to finish the job he'd started ten years earlier.

But Mason is a different person than he was ten years earlier. He is quiet, respectful, eager to help, and clearly had been battered by life in the intervening years. Tom hired him reluctantly and was surprised by how hard Mason worked for him. And he was surprised to learn more about Mason every day and why he'd done what he'd done ten years earlier. He also learns that Mason is a very wounded man, and that he alone holds the key to Mason's happiness in ways he never would have guessed.
