Song of the Morning: Stories About Yogacharya J. Oliver Black by Those Who Knew Him

Bob Korb
0/5 ( ratings)
John Oliver Black was a direct disciple of Paramahansa Yogananda, an Indian yogi who lived in the West for over 30 years and who authored the internationally famous book Autobiography of a Yogi .
As a successful and prosperous businessman, a millionaire at age 30, and at one time the state of Michigan’s largest private land owner, Mr. Black, to whom Yogananda gave the title Yogacharya in 1952, was an advanced yogi himself. People described Black as “no ordinary person” and “a God-man.”

After leaving the business world, Yogcharya taught classes at the Detroit Institute of Arts where people from all over the United States and Canada attended and where they learned from him the ancient sciences of yoga and meditation. To continue with his teachings, he later founded an 800-acre retreat in northern Michigan, Song of the Morning Yoga Retreat Center, which remains in operation today.

Mr. Black helped to heal many people of physical, emotional, and mental ailments and had a dramatic, positive influence on the many people who came to learn from him and benefit from his presence.

Read in these accounts people’s personal experiences, some of them which can only be described as incredible, and how Black assisted them on their spiritual journeys and with their personal growth and expansion. As you read, you can feel and experience for yourself the unique, powerful vibration of Yogacharya’s consciousness.
