Product DescriptionIn this delightful collection of poetry, Harry Stanifer conveys through simple and creative verse the beauty and joy of the best things in life. From family to nature, Stanifer explores God s creations through poems that all readers can understand and enjoy. Even tackling topics like old age, Stanifer displays a wit and grace that reminds us all not only of the power of God, but of the power of words to bring us together. About the AuthorHARRY STANIFER, born in Monroe, was raised in lower Michigan during the depression years. At seventeen he left Sand Creek High School to join the U.S. Marine Corps. Assigned to the 6th Marine Division, he served in the South Pacific during World War II. After the conflict, he was sent to North China for eighteen months to repatriate the Japanese Army. Harry returned home in 1947. While furthering his education, he married and worked at several jobs before settling into the engineering department at the Tecumseh Products Company. After thirty-three years, he retired and moved to Florida. In Florida, his desire to share his life experiences with his family led him to write his biography. From there, he began putting some of his thoughts on paper in the form of poetry. Harry and Helen, the joy of his life, have two children, eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Throughout the years they have been active members of the United Methodist Church and now reside in Hartwell, Georgia, near their son Chris and his wife Linda. The Stanifers daughter Lana and her husband Richard reside in Milan with their two girls.
