The Boy and the Dragon began as a bedtime story that I would tell my son who has autism. For him it is a magical story full of possibilities. For me, it captures the mixed emotions--the hopes and fears I have for his future. The story is childlike in a way that kids enjoy but only adults can fully appreciate. I've self-published and self-funded three other comics in the past year, but I'm bringing this one to Kickstarter because it is a great platform for independent creators to present their work to a wide audience and get help with production and printing costs. I want others to share in my love for this book, to see themselves and their children in the pages. But most of all I'm excited to share this book with my son who inspired it.
