Night-Night, Freddie

Night-Night, Freddie

Eric Redmon
0/5 ( ratings)
What would you do if you woke one morning and your spouse was gone? A few short months after they married, Claire lost Freddie one night. He was in bed with her when they went to sleep, but in the morning, he wasn’t. The entire town of Thibodaux, Louisiana, wanted to know what she did with him.

Claire, a beautiful woman, had little luck with men until she met Freddie. Mostly it was because she didn’t have the time or interest for a man in her life. Despite her best efforts to send him packing during and after their blind date, Freddie kept coming back. For Freddie, it was love, but for Claire, it was sabotage at first sight. After all, she was a successful and very independent businesswoman. This man with too much money was a corporate tea magnate whose wealth allowed him to do daredevil foolishness all over the world, and that was certainly no attraction to her.

At first.

In time, Freddie worked his magic on Claire. Soon, the entire town knew that love was brewing between the two. While on dates, Freddie would captivate Claire with his stories of traveling to exotic places and doing exciting things. He was a man with plans for more, which included Claire. Frederick Alexander Chapman’s wealth and demeanor allowed him to indulge in travel to exciting, dangerous places throughout the world where the slightest mistake or lack of planning might take his life; something very foreign to Claire, a safety-conscious stay-at-home. At first, it all seemed fabricated as Freddie did his best to impress Claire with tales of adventure and daring feats, yet her ever-alert BS meter blared louder and louder.

Claire tried her best to dissuade Freddie's persistent affections. Defying all odds, he managed to topple her venerable fortress of solitude, and within a year, they were married.

Then, everything changed.

Freddie, an incredible storyteller, now continued telling his stories at bedtime. Recounting his endless adventures affected Claire in ways she could never have imagined. Together they would travel to places and do things that neither had dreamed of separately. Then, the unimaginable happened. Claire suddenly lost Freddie one night.

How could she have lost him? They were so much in love, and they'd only met a few months before. Freddie had survived so many feats before, and his spark for life seemed eternal. Sadly, Claire knew where she'd lost him but had no idea how to return to that place. Going back wouldn’t be easy because it was in a remote place half a world away. She had never felt such distress. Everything with Freddie had happened so effortlessly until now.

Claire couldn’t fathom how to bring her husband home or what to tell people who inquired where he’d gone. Some labeled her a Black Widow.

Everyone in her small town wondered what she’d done with her husband, whose corporation was in danger of a hostile takeover. Claire needed help, and she needed it fast.
