What is really happening in Indonesia? Is there a regional axis of evil? To what extent is the regional terror group Jema'ah Islamiyah parochial, and to what extent does it reflect wider regional networks tracing their origins to al Qaeda? In particular, the history of Islam in Indonesia needs to be understood, and its relationship with the world of politics. This collection contributes to a better understanding of Indonesia and of Islam, and the relationship of both to regional and global stability.
