A Song for Syria is an anthology of art, poetry, stories, prose and interviews from the participants in the Syrian creative resistance, most of them living in exile. Edited by Sreemanti Sengupta, it is a tribute to Syrian artists - voices that have risen over bomb smoke, art that has been dipped in blood, to artists who were forced to flee their homeland and those who stayed back. The contributors include Tammam H Hunaidy, Ghayath Almadhoun, Faraj Bayrakdar, Hussam Eddin Mohammad, Emad AlAhmad, Hamed Abboud, Tareq Aljabr, Rasha Omran, Mustafa Taj Aldeen Almosa, Sanaa Aoun, Yousef Wakkas, Saeed Al-Batal, Abu Malek Al-Shami, Mohammad Abu Hajar, Hani Abbas, Syria Banksy project, Kesh Malek, Aziz Asmar, Abu Malek Al-Shami, Rateb Shabo, Haleem Kawa and Snigdhendu Bhattacharya. A one-of-its-kind publication, it attempts to capture the many realities of the Syrian tragedy, one of the worst humanitarian crises of our times.
