A “stalking horse” can be a ruse, or a muse, as Greg West soon discovers. Greg is a guy with a black Lab named Champ and a plain but comfortable condo. He leads an ordinary, unexciting life, that is, until the fateful morning when he finds his young coworker, Megan, brutally beaten to death in her apartment under very troubling circumstances.
