It is part of the in 1955 established the International Urban Historical Commission to open a European historical Atlas project. The aim was to help the historic Atlas and topography through to understand the roots of the city. To date, has published nearly 400 Maps in different European cities, these are 11 countries in the northern Atlas. Now Helsinki is linked series. Maps is the city's analysis of the physical structure of the development, growth, and various activities are ranked the long term. Of these, the so-called thematic maps, we can find a private doctor, is for private nursing rooms and the locations of hospitals and kindergartens, private manufacturing and the other school's placement in the various cross-sectional years. Historic maps include a number of the general public unprecedented maps of Helsinki. Some have come from the Swedish archives.
