Michel's mixed-up musical bird

Young Michel, a student of music at the Paris Conservatory, rescues a tiny bird from a storm and decides to give him a home. But it soon becomes apparent to Madame Footy, Michel's ill tempered housekeeper, that he is devoting more time to that filthy creature than to his composition for the conservatory. Indeed, looking after the mischievous bird, One-Note, is no small task. When he is not provoking Robespierre, their lazy dog, One-Note is teasing Madame Footy's spoiled cats, Jacques and Claude. But Michel is finally rewarded for his kindness and concern: it is OneNote's unusual staccato song that inspires Michel's composition, the beautiful Fantasia.
