Como quería regalarle este libro a un amigo que es gran admirador del Che (no de la figurita, del personaje histórico, y me consta que tiene argumentos de sobra para serlo), me tomé el atrevimiento de leerlo previamente para ver si estaba a la altura de sus expectativas. Y no estuvo a la altura de las mías, que aunque tengo simpatía por el Che soy un gran ignorante de su vida y obra, así que ni me arriesgué a regalárselo a él. This is a great comic book if you are a history teacher. A lot of kids today recognize the face of Che immediately when they see it. But they don’t know who he was, what he did and how he died. Here in Holland we don’t teach them about Cuba, because it’s not on our curriculum. But I really want to change that. I mean if we are talking about the Cold War, why not bring it up. Even though this comic book doesn’t tell everything about Che, like the bad things, it’s still a great one to have.
Este libro promete más de lo que ofrece. Apela al gancho "pop" de "San Che" para atraer a los jóvenes hacia la figura idealizada del comandante Che Guevara. Puede resultar adecuado como primera aproximación al pesonaje, pero no a la persona. Al estar constreñido a 48 páginas (album francobelga) la historia simplifica y caricaturiza demasiado y solo aporta pinceladas sobre aspectos profundos de la persona.
