This is a collection of nine stories originally printed in genre publications Analog, Galaxy, Vertex, and Orbit in the mid-1970's. They have a better range of characterization than many of the other what if/if this goes on hard-sf puzzle stories of the time. Most enjoyable and gripping science-fiction short-stories that I have read so far. The technology vision is interesting, as is the characters' psychology and the writing style. Loved this. Highly recommended.
