The last part of his life was spent near Gardena and Quartzburg, Idaho where he had a mine of his own called "The Last Chance Mine". He talks to the "Idaho World" about finding a gold nugget the size of his hand in his mine. With his journal, newspaper clips, letters, and pictures a wonderful life is related to the reader.
