BEFORE TIME CATCHES UP: LYRICAL LIFE, VOL. 4

BEFORE TIME CATCHES UP: LYRICAL LIFE, VOL. 4

Gary E. Walden
0/5 ( ratings)
Welcome! to the fourth in a series of books on song lyrics/song poems that were written since my teenage years. The enclosed song lyrics/poems range from romance, Christianity, heartbreak, fantasy and many other subjects that provided inspiration. "She fell in love with a fisherman, but, he wasn't a good catch, she fell in love with a sitarist, but there too many strings attached" from "She Fell In Love With"..."We barricaded ourselves, in my parents' room, my father came home drunk, in one of his terrorizing moods. We huddled in the corner, wondering what would happen next, be banged against the door, I was relieved when he gave up and left...my teenage self, said, remember this!" from "Remember This" and "She's got Laura Ashley's in the closet, Cortland intimates beneath her bed, she's not Naughty Monkey's in the kitchen, buying Stride Rite's would be sacrilege" from "Shoe Obsession" are just a brief glimpse into the kinds of poems included in this collection. I also devote a chapter at the end of this book on how to go about pursuing a career in song lyric and song poem writing.
