Rebecca Martin
0/5 ( ratings)
When her foster parents sat her down on her sixteenth birthday and broke the unbelievable news, Brenna O’Dell was in denial. There was no way she was part faerie. Faeries don’t exist. But when Brenna sleeps at night, she is haunted by a corpse-like woman flowing black rags. Without warning, the woman materializes in real life, Brenna is sure she is being hunted.
In her world, Brenna always fought to be normal. A banshee stalker? Not normal. To make it worse, Brenna discovers the banshee is only a minion for a faerie lord, the king of the Unseelie court, the Pooka. He’s half-goat , and he wants to marry her. Gag.
Without much forethought, Brenna attempts to escape the Pooka by running to the Wyoming wilderness near her foster parents’ ranch. It’s there she discovers a faerie realm. Good, right? Wrong. The ruler won’t let her go and submits her to cruel lessons that are closer to torture than education. With the help of other faeries, Brenna finally escapes. She returns to her home exhausted and broken only to be confronted with the Pooka. There she must fight with magic she only just learned she possessed. In the end, the Pooka compromises with her, but only after taking something Brenna realizes that she’s not ready to give up – the boy she loves.
