Das Tote Meer: Kultur Und Geschichte Am Tiefsten Punkt der Erde

Das Tote Meer: Kultur Und Geschichte Am Tiefsten Punkt der Erde

Jürgen Zangenberg
0/5 ( ratings)
The region around the Dead Sea is one of the most fascinating cultural landscapes in the world. Qumran, the place where the famous Dead Sea Scrolls were found, and Masada, the fortress of Herod, are on the itinerary of every visit to Israel. This volume tries not only to see individual places in themselves, but also to widen the scope to perceive the region as a whole. Furthermore, the book does not only focus on the better-known Israeli-Palestinian west coast of the Dead Sea, but also includes the Jordanian east coast, which has only been made accessible in recent years, on an equal basis in its depiction. Besides all scientific requirements, this book also sets out to capture the "Dead Sea Myth," which belongs to the Dead Sea just like its ruins and archaeological finds. German text.
