A Texas Odyssey is an engaging mixture of western saga and interwoven bits of factual history. The story contains romance, intrigue, and suffering as well as sorrow that will move the reader, but it also includes humor that often highlights the story line. Noah Chaney enters Kimble County, Texas, on the western edge of the scenic hill country in 1874. The middle-aged ex-Texas Ranger, haunted by memories of his abducted wife, Lilliana, is searching for his estranged brother Jim Chaney. His calculated but unpredictable travels throughout the Texas hill country and Mexico will take the reader into the infamous Hoodoo Cattle War of Mason County, the hunting and capture of the legendary Johnny Ringo while being aided by the unsuspecting widow Matilda Whitlock, and the horrific Christmas Eve Indian raid of 1876. Noah arranges an ill-advised and ill-fated rescue mission deep into Mexico to recover his captive wife, Lilliana. The result is both fascinating and heartrending.
