If you haven't read this book before, read it! If you've read this book, read it again. This book is a "two-for" with both of Dale Carnegie's best sellers wrapped into a single volume: a tool-kit for successful relationships. Most of the principles established in this book I have heard before, but this book explains each principle like it will change your life...I officially agree with every argument Dale Carnegie makes. Carnegie always uses his own experiences to explain his points. There were
The book provides many quotes and examples from key figures in the American history, like Abraham and Roosevelt. Reading these feels nostalgic, and adds up to a good flavour. The main drawback is the vast number of 'rules' that he provides. The book would prove more memorable if the number of rules would be a more memorable quantity, up to 8 for example.
Few books influence our lives. This is one of kind. Though it much grounds on business perspectives, it's our perspective that how we look to it. Thumbs up!! :D
Of all the leadership books, psychology books, social intelligence books etc, this book synthesizes all of them into a simple execution able process. Love how simple Carnegie makes it, and its all valid and true. Like Seinfeld takes everyday and simply pokes fun at it, Carnegie takes things that impact people and relationships and lays out a path to improve your life. One of my top books ever.
Pretty solid tips and advice, quite realistic and a few ideas new to me, which I liked. Take for example, the one about people liking it more when you call them by their name. That one struck me and made me realize how true it was too. It gave many examples of how to practice these tips too.
I took a Dale Carnegie course for work, years ago. This was a required read, and I'm glad I read it. It helped me learn the skills to really work WITH people, places, things, and to focus on how to the best way to navigate the road ahead, rather than fret over the end result of my journey.
Many people said Carnegie is a classic - I just found bunch of obvious truths served in quite infantile way
Yes, the book is old, and yes, times have changed. And yes, a lot of the advice in this book is just common sense (for example: "Smile!"), but he puts it together in a way that each lesson builds on the other. I especially like his advice that the only way to get the best of an argument is to avoid it. He doesn't just tell you what to do but gives examples of how people have put the advice into practice. I think a lot of people in any line of work where they have to deal with people, or anyone s...
Great book. Really liked what the author recommends and plan to follow his advice more. However in my opinion you shouldn't apply everything to the point, because you will risk becoming a fake or a puppet.
Good one!!
A LIFE CHANGER BOOK
Loved it! Considering it was written so long ago, there is just a certain bit of insight that makes this book feel classic. There is so much common sense and wisdom in this book. An excellent read for anyone.

This book is hands down the “Almanac of Social Skills”. Even though the book was published in 1937, the social principles laid down are still applicable to this very day. Similar to all self-help books this book goes down into tiny details of our daily life that generally go unnoticed. This book presents them in a fashion that is opposite that I have not seen in other books. For every social principle taught, you are presented with tons and tons of examples and then they are further simplified by...
Good read with lots of tidbits of information worth taking note of. I'll have to go back and review the summaries from each section because there was SO much information.
A helpful book with practical advice on how to deal with conflict, influence, listen to, and befriend people.Useful tips and tricks, and steps that can be taken to fend off worry and anxious thoughts. Many stories that testify to the fact that the mind has so much more influence than we realize.Read this book slowly and apply the advice given in your life as you go, for the best experience with this book.
I've read How to Win Friends... before but it, and How to Stop Worrying... were much more effective this time around as I am concurrently taking the Dale Carnegie course and have today completed the Effective Leadership Training course. These two books are something that I will be dipping into again, having read them from cover to cover, and trying to incorporate the teachings into my daily life.
I really like this book because it teaches me how to communicate and influence others in an interesting way. It also have a lot of examples, stories which makes learning and understanding easier. This book won’t be too boring because of lots of principles, instead it is very fun.The book have different chapters inside such as ‘How to win friends and influence people’, ‘How to win people to your way of thinking’...... I really recommend this book. Rather to learn or just read short stories in the...
