0/5 ( ratings)
POLO DIAMOND is the third book in the Predator Trilogy - and many of the old characters are in this new story. It's international and Interpol is called in by Cdr Hugo LeBailey, to join the CougarX investigation to track down a gang targeting charity matches across the globe, with murder in mind. Chandos and the Bank Rotters polo team visit S. America for a celebrity charity match at the invitation of Diego Bandora, head of the giant San Credo Bank. But they are working undercover to search for a young girl, Riva Ballyantine, whose father and mother have disappeared and are reported dead. Her uncle, Theo FigUre, arch polo rival, has arrived before them and taken over the estate. Across-the-world the scams appear to cover divers activities including diamond and ivory smuggling, human trafficking and art fraud. But what and who is in control? An influential banker is a target and he is about to give the annual Prime Minister's business lecture. The confusion spreads and when LeBailey and his team think they have worked out the equation it falls apart. Meanwhile Mizi Panther lives on Digger and Abby Dunlop's small reserve on Bodmin Moor. She misses Mazo, her sibling, who escaped. Mizi does not think of freedom but the snow comes and she sees a way out. For the first time she has to hunt for food across a snow covered moor. She chances on a cave for shelter but finds she is sharing with a golden eagle. Mizi is mistaken for the Beast of Bodmin Moor by Digby and Dodger Hawk and called away from the moor to visit The Plantation where she meets Marsh Badger who realises their mistake. It is not the Beast who came to her aid and was injured. Sebastian Kurtis, Director of The Tor Reserve is still a target and another contract has been set up to kill him. Does his luck run out this time? Sebastian plays in the local charity Cricket Match against invited celebrities, including the popular Simon Shane. The story is a run of interconnecting tales leading up to surprising and tense scenes of cross tracking involved in catching The Jackass who is hiding behind a screen of subterfuge with assassination and bombing on his web of trickery. Can he be beaten at his game or will man and bridges tumble in the chase to beat a jackass?
