Amanda grew up in southern Colorado. In her mid-teens, her family moved to northern Colorado. She has lived there ever since. Poetry began as a bonding experience for her and her grandmother. As Amanda grew, poetry became a voice for her. It also became an outlet for her to grief when her grandma passed away. In 2010, Amanda and her husband, Greg, were placed with their adoption agency. However, after Madison was born, the birthmother decided to parent instead of moving forward with the adoption plan. In the end, the birthmother finally made the decision to move forward with the adoption. This is Amanda's story and her voice about losing Madison through adoption, learning to live again, and finally getting her daughter back again.
