This is so much more than a series about school. This is a well crafted and beautiful creation with clever themes and page turning stories. Every character was well rounded and flawed and believable. I will always love this series. Book after book the pages were still turned with vigour and anticipation. There's been ups and downs, wrongs and rights and I've found friends between the covers and spines. I am glad and happy to have grown alongside these characters. I love the way Allie transitione...
OK, I can't hold it back anymore. 4-5 stars all around? Did I read a different book?I feel so cheated, what a lame ending!!! I need a deep, cleansing rant now:What is it with these multi-volume YA series? They almost never live up to one's expectations - which in this case were all too high in the first place, growing over a whole year. Huge build-up in volume 4 with a cliffhanger and all the trimmings, you expect the fireworks to end all fireworks --- and then all you get is a few damp sparkler...
I LOVED IT. I FREAKIN LOVED IT. THANK YOU CJ DAUGHERTY FOR ALL THESE MOMENTS. I just can't believe the series is over. I mean, I was 15 when I started it and I'm 18 now. I just can't believe Allie finally chose one of them two (Sylvain and Carter). It didn't look real after Allie being so hesitant before. I loved the ending, everyone should read these books because they're part of one of the best series I've ever read. Some people won't be open-minded and will see it as a good ending if Allie sta...
I just don't know what to say.I have been crying the whole fucking day.My mom hugged me four times. My eyes are red like I'm a vampire.I was not talking for most of the day.I'm dead.Wait...those tears really screwed me up.I started with the end.At first I wasn't sad at all.I was the happiest person on erth.So let's start with that.So here's the thing,I've been waiting for my Endgame the whole FUCKING summer and I finally got it.I even cried than. But I was happy. So happy... And then I started read...
Endgame was always going to be bittersweet. It's the last book to a series I love. Whilst it filled my heart with every possible emotion then broke it when it ended, the author made Endgame go out with a bang. I mean, HOLY. FREAKING. CHEESEBALLS was this book good! I didn't have much hope for a happy ending with the shear amount of things which seemed to be stacked against them. The drama continued in Endgame. Carter was still missing, Sylvain had still yet to find out the heartbreaking news, and...
I just can't believe that this is ,,THE END''. I want more. I need more. I am so sad because it is over. Why is it over? WHY?! It was beautiful to read those books. It was amezing to fall in love with Cimmeria,Carter,Jo,Allie,Zoe,Rachel... I will miss them all. I will remember them forever.,,Carter,I will love you forever''.And these books aren't only about in what team are you(Carter or Sylvain),it is also about Allie growing up,Carter being so amaing,Sylvain being such a tosser,Nataniel being s...
Endgame , the final book in the Night School series is absolutely outstanding ! C.J. Daughtery weaves an all consuming tale that starts off from where Resistance ended. With Allie mourning the loss of her grandmother, wondering where is Carter, and will she be able to bring Nathaniel down. Endgame is a fast paced thrill of a ride, with outstanding character development, and an all consuming story line that will keep you captivated. Loved this series and loved Endgame! A must read !!!
A good ending to a good series. Allie actually came up with very clever ways to neutralise Nathaniel in this book. Also, her plan involving 9 was a stroke of genius. You can really tell from this book how Allie has grown as a character. I think the author made a mistake with Carter and Allie, because it was definitely not just friendship love she was feeling for Sylvain. And damnit I was right, Allie did hurt Sylvain by the way she handled things, and yet he still loves her. To me if you can't t...
Allie could be annoying in this, but I didn't find her quite as bad as she was in the previous few. This wasn't an awful read, but it wasn't a great one either. I felt bored for quite a lot of it, and a few parts dragged because of it. Overall, An okay read.
I think I found myself enjoying this book...I can't be sure.
4.5 starsIt's over and I'm so sad. The Night School books have been one of my favorite escapes providing remarkable mystery, incredible writing, amazing characters and pure solid entertainment. C.J. Daugherty took over my imagination book after book and it makes me sad to think that there wont be a new book to look forward to next year, but if this series has to end, I couldn't ask for anything better!Endgame starts off seconds after Resistance ends. The beginning of the book is straight out of
ohhh no Are you kidding me? we have to wait a whole yearAnd what about Carter?the cliffhanger in the previous book was amazing and then..... everything destroyed
4,5Wow! This is a fantastic end to one of my favourite book series! It was quite different from the other books in the series, but very good. I loved the way C. J. Daugherty finished the story, it has been a clever ending (thanks God!), and with a lot of action and desperate moments, all combined with a lot of feels. The only thing that made me a little bit sad was the lack of protagonism of Carter and Sylvain... I mean, I wish they could have saved Carter earlier and to him to join Allie, Raj an...
DONE. FINALLY. MADE IT THROUGH THE WHOLE SERIES.The book basically was like „Oh God Carter 😭😭😭“ for 300 pages and super annoying. Allie is super egocentric and the books was kinda boring all over. The big „show down“ at the end was a huge Wtf moment- 5 books and fighting with Nathaniel for.... this? 😂 The actual end was kinda cute tho. The wtf-Moments throughout reading still where bigger tho.Bye Cimmeria.
This book has it all! Non-stop action, teenage love triangle, friendship problems, egomaniac villains etc. To be honest, it's a long time since I've read a YA series and I believe that is why I enjoyed it so much! Nevertheless, I really liked it and I recommend it to all the fans of this genre!
4.5/5I shed a few tears at the end... I can't believe it is the end!!! To be honest, I believe there's room for a sixth book or some kind of companion novel. But it was a great ending to a great saga.Nighter, always.
I'm not sure how i feel right now!!!! I'm so happy after 5 books, i finally got my "happy" ending but at the same time, i feel sorrow inside me!!!Was it truly the end???? Why???I loved all the characters of these books... They were unique and wonderfull... I saw them changing as persons book after book, i saw them growing up, i saw them fighting for what they truly believe, i saw them to be devoted and compassionate and funny and willed to do everything for the ones they loved... They protected
"Stay cool, Carter West.""Always."I've been staring at the last page for some time now. It's really over, that was it. My children all left me and they are not coming back. This book was a rollercoaster of emotions. I cried, I died, I cried some more, I smiled, I laughed. I will love each and every one of them forever.SPOILERSThe beginning was, like, so sad? I mean, my baby boy Carter was left behind and they didn't know if he was alive or not. I swear to God, I hate Nathaniel so much. Ugh that
Also reviewed on Sophie Reads YAI received an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher via NetGalley. This is no way impacted in my view. When I was approved for this eARC, I was so excited! Endgame was one of my most anticipated 2015 books, especially considering how Resistance ended. As soon as I was able to, I dove right in, and was so entranced by the book that I devoured it in less than a day!Endgame begins immediately after the ending of Resistance - and by immediately, I mean mere seconds la...
(Source: I received a digital copy of this book for free on a read-to-review basis. Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley.)This was an okay story, but I have to admit to being quite bored throughout it. The storyline in this was basically just about getting Carter back, with a little nod to Allie’s break-up with Sylvain. So yes, we got an end to the love triangle! The book was pretty dull for me though. The pace was slow, very little seemed to happen, and most of the book was just Allie being upset...
