"I tried to keep watch on all the entrances to the backyard like Kate had told me to do , but I was too fascinated by the lock picking set in her nimble fingers. I wondered if they’d teach me to do that stuff in classes to become a private detective. Somehow, I was thinking that wasn’t a skill they wanted to teach to the general public. She had the door open in a matter of seconds, and when she gestured for me to join her, I ran to her side like the great loping gazelle I was— almost slipping on...
Second book in the fun sexy romantic mystery series about inept and clumsy Addison Holmes.
I have to be honest and say that when I read the first book I thought Addison was kind of a clueless ditz. Then the friend who recommended that I read the book pointed out that the reason she had thought I'd like it was that Addison is so much like me. I went back and thought about it, and darned if she isn't right! I would totally fall out of the tree and get stuck at the top of the fence. Totally. That being said....This is book two in the series, and like book 1 it ended with lots of room for...
I'm hooked. Straight onto the next book in the series, no question about it. I've grown quite fond of Addison, the accident prone disaster magnet. The humour in these books is spot on.
Laugh out loud moments and rollicking good fun!
I adore Addison Holmes. She makes me laugh like no other heroine has in a while. I loved Whiskey Rebellion, but I think I enjoyed the second book even more. The secondary characters are well-drawn and likeable. Great chemistry between the two main characters. Adding a new potential love interest was a great twist and complication for poor Addison to stumble through. The mystery was such a minor subplot for me -- I just wanted to see what trouble Addison was going to get into next.Ms. Hart, I kno...
Liliana Hart writes a captivating mystery thriller with great characters and wonderful dialogue. More than once, her use of humorous phrases will have the reader laughing out loud! Read full review in the 2012 Holiday issue of InD’tale Magazine.
Another Fun ReadThe best thing about the Addison Holmes series is that it's an easy fun read. The pacing is excellent. The characters are brilliant. Addison is beyond likable. Everyone has or wants a friend like her. The mystery is always interesting even if a bit fluffy. It's definitely chick mystery, but the reveal is always satisfying. There is romance, but I wouldn't really call this romantic mystery. There needs to be more development on that front to warrant that description. Don't get me
Loved this book, accident prone Addison fumbles her way through yet another case and this time has two hunky cops to choose from. Funny, well written and good suspense.
This series is so fun and absolutely hilarious. I actually got stitches in my side the other night from laughing so hard.
Whiskey Sour begins when Addison and Nick are talking again, but things may not be all that great, especially when Addison decides to help the FBI and get her private detective license. While she's having these issues, she's also having issues living with her mother and her mom's new boyfriend. This book was actually very good. At first, I thought it was sort of slow to get into and I don't like when the prologue gives you more information, but I was happy with the outcome, and very happy with w...
Another fun, easy, quick read, great to fill in the time between some heavier novels.
Addison Holmes #2....she is up to her usual bumbling tricks. This is a nice light story, quick read and you don't have to put a lot of energy into it. But like #1, the ending is just so out there...all these weird details come out of nowhere to wrap up the story in a hurry. Lots of romance that I could do without but I know there are lots of people who really like that sort of fluff. But since it's a quick read with no huge investment, it's an okay way to kill time when you are stuck at home!
I loved this book Liliana. I just love Addison. Sometimes she is so much like me when I was younger. She is such a clumsy person, but you have to love her. This book is about Addison and her work with the Detective agency. She gets fired from her teaching job and decides she wants to become an detective She also gets involved with a fellow worker Nick. They have been attracted to each other for some time and they finally enter into a relationship of sorts. Addison isn't sure how Nick feels about...
Another awesome novel in the Addison Holmes series! Addison while goofy and a little frustrating at times, is a very likable character that I felt I could relate to very easily (especially when it comes to her addiction to sweets). The action and romance in this book is off the scales and incredibly fun and funny to read. It's a quick and easy novel to sink your teeth into when you're feeling down and need a good laugh. While the love triangle gets a little irritating you can't help but enjoy bo...
Loved this one, too!
Alway a fun read. Ms. Hart can make me laugh.
These are some entertaining characters!!
3.5 starsThis series is a bit of dumb fun. It has a lot in common with the Stephanie Plum series. Definitely parts that made me giggle.
Meh. The characters are engaging enough for me to want to keep reading to find out what happens, but the book is still very poorly edited/proofread - the kinds of errors that spellcheck wouldn't catch, but an actual person would - like when she said that a particular person's reaction was a "very good sigh" (meaning it boded well for the future).
