I knew then that death hadn’t forsaken me when I’d lived this past winter. It was still out to get me, and I’d just looked it in the face. Jaye is back in Bloody Mary after being away for a few months. She still feels a bit broken after everything that happened to her in the previous book, add the fact that she’s uncovered more secrets about her parents, and the sudden realisation that there’s more to her and Jack than just being best friends and it’s all made her vulnerable and set on keepi
Little nuances bug me, for example, there is a comment about three deaths, and it almost became four. A writer should know her own work. In the last book, it was actually four murders, and one attempted murder. Need to keep track of little details like that. Also, the part about the military KIAs really bugged me. They are not prepped by private funeral homes. They are prepped at Dover Air Force base. Fact check, please. And in the last book, didn't Jeremy whatever his name was tell JJ that he cut...
I can't believe I just discovered Ms. Hart. This book had me shirking my parental duties just to finish. I could not put this book down. I love J.J. And Jack. They are so good together. Trouble seems to follow her but she is stronger in this second book of the series. I cannot wait for the next installment. If you haven't put this on your TBR list, you are truly missing out.
I loved the first book in the series (Dirty Little Secrets), but the second book is even better.
I swear, this series gets better and better. J.J. Graves is such a complex character, especially now. The events of book 1 profoundly affected her, and J.J. has returned to Bloody Mary after a four month sabbatical following her near murder. She has barely crossed the town limits when she encounters a murder. And, just like that, she's thrust right back into a role she's not sure she's ready for yet. Jack is happy to see her and not willing to let any more time go by before he tells her how he r...
I liked this book even more than book 1. Maybe because you get to know JJ a little more. Whatever the reason, looking forward to book 3. Thrilling and chilling read.

Done it again. Another great book by the author. A little bit slow after the first events, but soon picks up. And what an ending. Next...
A Dirty Shame (J.J. Graves Mystery #2)by Liliana Hart, was a bit more somber then the first book, but I was happy that the events in book one were not swept under the carpet, but were incorporated into this book in as part of the continuing plot.In book two we find JJ and Jack working on another series of murders that seem to be related to a hate crime. Surrounding this main theme, we see JJ coming to teams with what happened to her in book 1, her path to healing is a rough one, and a bit quick(...
I mostly liked this story but both books so far have inconsistencies and holes in the plot that are not explained. Like the characters and dialogue is well done.
This is a must read book for everyone who loves murder/mystery with a hint of romance. This book had me gripped from the start and it didnt take me long to finish as i couldnt put it down. It left me on one beauty of a cliffhanger and i cannot wait for the 3rd book. :)
A dirty shame was just as entertaining as the first instalment in the series, Dirty Little Secrets. I’m still surprised to be enjoying this series as I downloaded the first book as a freebie and wasn’t really expecting to like it.The books are far from perfect but they are fun to read and I really like J.J.’s character. She is stronger now that she was in the first instalment and it’s nice to see her character evolve. After reading Dirty Little Secrets it was quite obvious that she and Jack woul...
I wish I had more to say about this book but I’m a little at a loss. Nothing here was groundbreaking, exactly, but it certainly was an improvement on the first book... I’m beginning to feel like the big draw for this series is gonna be J.J. and Jack, not the mysteries. And even then, I’m not exactly rushing to get to book three. I’ve got it on hold and when I get it, I’ll get it. 🤷🏽♀️
OMG!!! Another great book in the series but the ending had me screaming and when I realized the third book won't be out till November I began to cry!! How can I wait that long after reading that cliffhanger!!! Ugh the agony of it all!!I really love the characters and really can't say that enough. They seem so real, the whole story is written so well you feel like you are part of it. Everything just flows right and the personalities fit within the story too. J.J. is becoming a favorite! Oh and Ja...
4 starsOwn in The J.J. Graves Mysteries set. This one is a little dark. JJ is traumatized from the attack by a serial killer - she almost died - about the same time that her relationship with her best friend, Jack, may be going somewhere. JJ holes up for a couple of months at her family's cabin and unearths some family secrets. She returns to Bloody Mary, VA uncertain, with PTSD, and to Jack. Jack is a sweetheart in this book (but when is he not?). He is certain that he wants a committed relation...
I found this second installment annoying. If you're a romance-reader looking for a bit of suspense/murder mystery, I guess you'll love this. This isn't to say the murder investigation was relegated to the background while Jack and JJ get it on. No, the book stays on the investigation...BUT, it's like I can't listen to more than a couple of sentences and I have to listen to what JJ feels about Jack, about everything darn thing he does, he thinks, he is. The book may revolve around the murder but
My Review:Overall.... 4.50Performance... 4.50Story.... 4.75I'm officially in love with this series. I love Jack. I love J.J. and I love where their story went in this book! After the ending of book #1, J.J.'s world was pretty much shattered and she's been in hiding and away from Bloody Mary and Jack in the months since. This story starts with her coming home, hitting the city limits and finding a mutilated body as she comes into town. Nothing like being thrown right back into work and Jack with
I am officially obsessed with this series. The characters are beyond phenomenal and their development seriously amazes me. Jaye is dealing with the tragedy that occurred in book one and she's trying to overcome her fears and to normalize the situation in Bloody Mary. However, nothing is easy as it seems. The first person to greet her in her hometown is a dead body. And later,Jack. *swoon* It's not normal how much I love Jack and how much I ship Jaye and Jack. One of my favourite book pairings! The...

... and the Mystery continues This was a great follow-up to Dirty Little Secrets. This story continues to build and we learn more about JJ Graves. The mystery continues to build as they solve the deaths of three local Bloody Mary residents. We learn more about JJ's past, but still not her first name... and at the end there is a surprise. I'm not sure how JJ will react and the author will keep us guessing until book 3 Dirty Rotten Scoundrel is released!
