Josh's Ocean

Josh's Ocean

James Griffin
3.4/5 ( ratings)
Nancy Miller did the best she could, raising Josh on her own. But this mother, no matter how much she tried, couldn't always provide everything her boy needed to grow.

The imminent death of her mother brought her back home to New York, to her sister and an unexpected chance at a new start.

Josh was introverted and shy, unwilling to reach out to other children, preferring to live in his virtual world of video games. Nancy lived for her boy and knew he needed something more - but what?

A job opening on Cape Cod was brought to light, and Nancy took it. Little did she know that what awaited her was far more than beaches and seafood.

And little did she know how important her heart turned out to be - not only to her son and the strangers who befriended them, but to those long ago left behind.

All she needed was a chance, and she took it.

Author's note:

This is my second novel. When I sat down to write I had but one goal: Write a story that people wouldn't believe was written by a man. That's was it.

Years later, I found a program online that, after uploading a segment of a manuscript, would give the gender of the writer.

I was successful.

As I was getting close to finishing this story, my son made this remark:

"Daddy, I can always tell when you're getting close to the end of one of your books."

"Why, Pete?"

"'Cause you start talking all the time about your characters like they were real people."

"Peter? They are."
