Hebrews and the Letters of Peter: Toward Being Vigorous Christians in a Challenging World (Adult Bible Study Guides)

Hebrews and the Letters of Peter: Toward Being Vigorous Christians in a Challenging World (Adult Bible Study Guides)

Charles Glidewell
4/5 ( ratings)
Hebrews and the Letters of Peter: Toward Being Vigorous Christians in a Challenging World is a thirteen-lesson study of Hebrews and 1 and 2 Peter.

Hebrews and the Letters of Peter have much to teach us, even though some aspects of these books are difficult. These books show us what robust, vigorous Christianity and Christians truly need to be like.

The Book of Hebrews talks about both God’s grace and God’s demands. It contains wonderful expressions of God’s grace. Against this background of God’s grace, the message of Hebrews is mainly challenge and warning, though.

First Peter was written to Christians under pressure. In many ways, they were outsiders in their culture. Thus this letter provides instructions for Christians attempting to live faithfully in such a world, even in our day.

Second Peter provides guidance for Christians living when it seemed that Jesus’ return had been promised so long ago that some were teaching that it would not happen. This letter offers instructions in how to live in such a setting. Rather than count the days, followers of Christ should grow in Christian maturity.
