The Gospel of Mark: People Responding to Jesus offers a study of the Gospel of Mark in thirteen chapters or lessons. From the very first verse of the Gospel of Mark, we know what Mark thinks of Jesus and, indeed, what Mark wants us to think of Jesus. Jesus is “Christ, the Son of God,” and Jesus brings and is “good news.” The rest of the Gospel of Mark amplifies these truths. A number of people in the Gospel of Mark are shown responding to Jesus, in both positive and negative ways. We will seek to learn from the Gospel of Mark about who Jesus is and how we need to respond to him ourselves by studying Scripture passages on these people’s responses to Jesus. As we look at their responses, our goal will be to receive “the good news of Jesus Christ, the Son of God” and respond positively to that “good news.”
