I appreciate Kim Scott teasing out some of the tension around a sensitive and hyper-charged topic: gender roles in the workplace, stereotypes and expectations around homemaking and raising children.But taking what could be the content of an intense blog post and trying to stretch it into a novel just didn't work. ElectricKim is an amazing writer. There were so many times where I just had to put my Kindle down and chew on the words she wrote. So many brilliant insights on all aspects of the role reversal, househusband dynamic. I loved every moment! Fantastic work.
I picked this book up because I like Kim Scott, continued reading because the writing is witty and hilarious, and then finished it in two days because it actually offers a pretty in depth exploration into the gender issue around homemaking!
