Alvin is a very special boy, who lives in a very special place. Actually, it is not a place at all. It is a circus, which travels all over the country. At every stop everyone who works and travels with the circus have a great time setting up all of the bright tents and banners. Alvin gets to help too! Alvin's father is the ringmaster of the circus. Alvin has a very special talent. Since he was a very little boy Alvin has always talked with the animals. He would babble to them as a baby, and some of his first words were to the animals through the bars of their cages. Whenever an animal was out of sorts, Alvin could figure out why. Whenever a new animal joined the circus, Alvin could make him feel very welcome. Alvin was not afraid of the animals, which sometimes frightened his family and the other members of the circus. He would walk right up to the lion, or sneak into the tiger's cage. His father would ask him, why he talked to the animals. Alvin told him, it was because he could speak to them, and the animals could speak back! At first, his father told Alvin that he could not talk to animals. He said that it was just Alvin's imagination that made him think that he could. Alvin knew that it was true, but he decided it was better not to tell anyone anymore. Then one day his father he saw Alvin speak to the animals, and he realized just how amazing his son was. He let Alvin have his own little circus full of his animal friends. Each one had their own special talent. They could do all kinds of tricks, sing, and even dance!

With so much fun to have, Alvin is always a very busy boy. He gets to put on his own little show in the center ring. Alvin's best friend was a small dog named Sprout. Sprout liked to go everywhere with Alvin. Alvin also had a little sister named Ann. Ann was three, and she liked to follow Alvin around too! Ann had her own little secret. She could talk to animals too! Alvin, Ann, and Sprout are always happy to help any animals who need them. As the circus travels through different towns and cities, Alvin and Sprout get to explore many new places. Exploring was one of their favorite things to do, and as soon as the circus set up camp in a new place, they would head right out to see what there was to see.
