Bag Land: Smash-N-Grab Thriller

Bag Land: Smash-N-Grab Thriller

D.L. Karabin
0/5 ( ratings)
Smash-N-Grabbed from the headlines, this thriller underscores a trending reality in American crime--that designer handbags have become the new gold standard for thieves with a political agenda. Instead of seducing you with marketing content, the author has chosen to share the Preface of "Bag Land."

It speaks for itself.

The sizzling Roman sun was rapidly setting, casting a final, golden glow over the ancient ruins. Interpol Team Leader Micheal Archangelo stopped to watch it disappear before getting on his vintage Harley for the ride home. But before he could even kick start the refurbished “hog,” he got an emergency Interpol alert to come back to headquarters ASAP.

“Shit,” he said out loud, knowing that he had promised his six-year old son Sam a long, getaway weekend to their favorite fishing hole on Lake Como. The kid had been looking forward to it for months. They had a plane to catch to Milan. Now this.

On the way to the conference room, he ran into Portia, another operative.

“So they changed their minds and called you in. You’re gonna love this case,” she smiled sarcastically and added a deliberate wink. “It’s all about designer handbags.”

And that was how it began. No open and shut case by a long shot but rather an evolving American crime wave with political repercussions and at the center, holding the purse strings, a shady, international billionaire.

Micheal Archangelo would be soon on his way to his home town Chicago, now the epicenter of the designer handbag crime wave. Things in life really do come full circle, he mused, remembering how a random act of violence there once changed his life. You see, Interpol's top team leader once wanted to become a priest. He hadn't been back home for more than a decade. Now, Micheal was headed there for what would become one of the most politically-charged cases in The Archangelo Archives.
