This is a nice picture book to read to kids while discussing how apples grow on trees.
Storytime A
Summary: Little Apple Goat is not a normal goat. Little Apple Goat eats apples, pears, and cherries in her orchard and throws the seeds over a hedge when she is done. One night there is a bad storm and all the trees in the orchard fall over and the farmer comes and takes them away to cut them up into logs. Little Apple Goat is upset that all her trees are gone until one day she wakes up to find something special. Review: I didn't enjoy the storyline of this book, but the pictures are very colorf...
Perpetuating the stereotype the goats eat laundry and other objects, Little Apple Goat breaks with tradition and eats fruit instead and spits out the pits along the road. When a storm blows down the entire orchard, everyone is rightfully sad until the pits sprout into ten-year old trees over winter and start bearing fruit.A fruit tree grew in my husband's family home where his father once spit out a fruit pit, so although unlikely, it is a viable way to grow trees. However, while cutely illustra...
This is one of the cutest stoires I've ever read! This is about a cute little goat who saves the day. I think it would be for ages maybe 2-5 but anyone can enjoy it.
Little goat eats apples, pears, and cherries, and spits the seeds over the hedge. One night a mighty storm blows away the orchard. The next year a new one begins to grow over the hedge.
This little goat prefers eating fruit over eating junk. Every day she eats the windfall fruit in the farmer's orchard and then spits the seeds out over the fence. One stormy night all the trees are blown over and the farmer gathers them up to use as firewood. All winter long little goat watches the smoke from the farmer's chimney and misses the trees. To her surprise, the following spring there are blossoms on the other side of the fence. "Who could have planted the new orchard?" the farm animal...
A young goat lives on a farm and prefers the fruit of the orchard to things other goats eat. The story teaches concepts about the natural world (eg seeds, changing seasons). Colorful, simple illustrations will appeal to the very young.
Cute story about the life cycle of fruit seeds to trees from the eyes of a little goat enjoying nature.
Cute little story that explains apple farming simply enough for a young storytime crowd, but has a bit of drama, too.

Little Apple Goat is a charming little goat who enjoys eating fruits from the farm and orchard. When she's finished she spits the seeds over the hedge. Even the sound is charming "Plippety plip!" When disaster strikes the orchard, we see the circle of life come full circle. I will be using this one along with Frog and Toad planting Toad's garden this year for a planting and growing storytime.
Such cute illustrations.
Our family lives in farm country - surrounded by corn fields, grazing cows, and orchards - so I'm always on the look out for books about farms and the animals that live there. We planted our first vegetable garden this year, and I thought this cute book about a little goat who likes eating fresh fruit from a nearby orchard could help reinforce the idea of eating what you grow.My daughter is 2, but she followed the story pretty well. She especially enjoyed the colorful scenery and changing season...
