The Last Woman

The Last Woman

Carolyn Anderson
0/5 ( ratings)
The Last Woman details the ordeals and communion of eight people who survive a world-wide apocalypse.
Step by horrifying step, Leigh, a feisty eighty year-old shopkeeper, learns she is alone in her small village—perhaps in the entire Earth. She does not yet know that she—and a few others scattered across the planet—has just survived Armageddon.
Many questions trouble this ordinary but courageous woman as she embarks on a dangerous journey to find the truth: What has happened? Are there other survivors? How will she live? Where will she go? She finds the answers only through persistence and resourcefulness.
And then there is Sean. From Ireland to California to a planet on the edge of the Milky Way Galaxy, his quest is to find the one special woman. He triumphs over frightening difficulties and proves his value as a friend and husband to Leigh, recognizing the need to attain a high standard of morality, courage, and initiative.
In time, the paths of the eight intersect on a new island in the Atlantic where they undergo many tests—the attack of frightening creatures that have by mistake fed through a conduit from another world; an encounter with giant reptiles that exposes their vulnerability; dangerous trips of discovery that they survive only through ingenuity and boldness.
As they face these many challenges, they realize they are on trial before the Universe, representing their race in an ages-old challenge—will humanity meet the test of courage, resourcefulness, and integrity and be accepted into a Universal organization of intelligent creatures? Ahead are 1,000 years of struggle with a hostile environment, a remnant of evil men, and their own imperfect human nature as they discover the ultimate purpose of the human race.
