I woke up to my alarm letting me know that it was time to get ready for school starting with a shower. I stood up and stretched as I walked over to my closet wondering what David, my new boyfriend but long time love of my life since childhood, had planned for the first of our weeklong dates since he had to leave with his family since my father announced that Jerry, David’s father was going to be leading the business in Japan for my father. I shuffled through my closet looking at what I could put together for my first date today after school and since I had no clue what to wear I figured a nice dress with a jacket and boots would be nice. I picked a pink summer dress and jean jacket with my brown knee high boots with silver buckles. I grabbed a necklace and earing’s to wear with my outfit and headed to the bathroom taking a quick shower humming as I think about how my day is beginning and hopefully how it will end. I got dressed and did my makeup before walking downstairs to my mom making me some eggs and toast, I loved the smell of breakfast in the morning.


“Morning mom” I said walking up to her and kissing her on the cheek, “having a good morning?” I asked cheerfully. My mom looked me over and wasn’t sure how to react, “I’m doing well so far…you’re awfully chipper today” she said watching me take a seat at the bar. I rolled my eyes and giggled as my mom handed me my toast to butter and then slid my eggs over to me on a plate, “so everything is okay?” she asked me trying to poke and prod some sort of information out of me about last night’s talk with my father, where I basically told him that I loved David and didn’t want him to move to Japan. I looked my mom in the eye with a confident smile, “mom, I promise…everything is okay” I said taking a bite out of my toast. I looked over at the clock and saw that it was almost time for my first class of the day, I finished my last bite of food and picked up my backpack before running out the door. I checked myself over in the floor length mirror by the door and grabbed my keys. By the time I had made it to the campus I pulled into my paid spot where David stood waiting for me with flowers in hand. I smiled as I turned off my engine and grabbed my bag.
