It’s an all-too-common scenario:

A company has selected a team whose skills combine to make a wonderful organization. They have confidence in the various attributes of their team members, and they know they have hired the very best for their respective roles in the company. At first, everything seems to run smoothly, but over time, some problems begin to come up. Several employees have had conflicts with others at work. Deadlines are being missed. Productivity is down. Morale is down.



What is going on here, and what can be done to right the ship and to prevent issues like this from recurring?

The reality is that even with a team of the greatest people, problems can arise. In the simplest of cases, one or a few team members find themselves struggling, and all that is necessary to correct the situation is a quick meeting between the supervisor and the troubled parties. Unfortunately, probably more often than not, the underlying problem originates somewhere else in the organization, sometimes in the very culture itself, and some more in-depth exploration is needed.
