Another perfectly fine intro to one of the new Star Wars' characters for kids.
Very dumbed down introduction to Star Wars episode 1 focussing on Finn.
This feels very long for a kids book. As a result it drags and isn't particularly interesting to kids. For more on my love of The Force Awakens tune in to this early episode of the All the Books Show: https://soundcloud.com/allthebooks/ep...
I’m guessing this short book would be better for someone who knew about Star Wars and had seen the films. As I have photosensitivity and don’t watch film, I found this book difficult to follow and understand.

Wow. You won't know the hardships of a storm trooper's life until you read this book. THIS IS A MUST READ FOR ALL STAR WARS FANS, and all Finn fans. We now know the brutality of getting yelled at in gory detail. I feel like this book really fleshed out Finn as a character. If you enjoy short but sweet stories this is the book for you.
Fine for kids
This book covers the first part of the plot of The Force Awakens up to FInn and Rey's excape from Jakku. The text is a good size for early readers and is enclosed in shaded boxes to make it easier to see against the illustrations. Speaking of the illustrations, the art in this book is BREATHTAKING with incredible detail, especially on the characters' faces.
