Really enjoying this book series , bond on steroids
Someone is killing Delta Force operative that participated in an operation in Iran. Jon Reznick is on the hit list. The usual bureaucrats are keen on sacrificing Jon to the Iranian/Mexican Cartel alliance, but Reznick doesn't agree.Fast paced and exciting novel. Not quite in the same class as, say Ben Coes or Brad Thor, but still worth seeking out.
The third in the Jon Reznick series opens with our hero at home in Maine, receiving a desperate phone call from a former Delta Force buddy “Tiny” Charles Burns (Hard Road), critically injured in a car crash in Miami, his chilling final words warning “they’re gonna kill us all…” A week later he attends the funeral in Miami, catching up with another former Delta Force member, Pete Dorfman, a divorcee living with his father in Fort Lauderdale. As he is about to board his flight home he receives a c...
Read in just a few sittings. This is another series that I am loving a little more with each book and so I am not wasting time writing a review all I will say is read this series and I am moving right on to the next one.
Another thriller with Jon Reznick, our ex-Delta force hero. He is much more of one-man operation in this one, involving Iranian terrorists. Fast pace, very violent and a real page-turner. On the next one soon.
I've read the first two in the Reznick series and have thoroughly enjoyed them. Knowing the 4th book has recently been released I figured it was high time to catch up so started on this the third book in the series. Jon Reznick is ex-delta and has a myriad of skills which sets him apart. He has previously helped the FBI but there is certainly no love lost between them and Jon. As a character I like him, a LOT! As a character he is a typical lead hero with the skill set to match, although he also...
In this book, former Delta Force member Jon Reznick gets a call from a former Delta Force colleague Tiny. Jon and Tiny had gone to Iran to kill some Iranian scientists and now Tiny has been in an accident that killed his wife and child but before he dies he manages to tell Jon that they've killed him and are coming for them all. When Jon sees in the paper that they said Tiny was very drunk and that it caused the wreck, Jon is irate. Tiny hated alcohol and was a teetotaler. He was also not drunk
Hard Wired is like…..a lazy try. Yah, it is still fast pace and action packed as I like but the plot is nothing but Reznick and the FBI running around and frankly that’s quite lame. Don’t get me wrong, it is still an ok read just that as a Reznick fan I am a little disappointed. Well, I hope the next book will be better.
It is a very good read
Thank you to Net Galley, the publishers and the author for an ARC copy for this Jon Reznick number 3, the best in the series so far. When an ex-Delta Forces operative dies in a car wreck in Miami, the FBI dismiss it as a tragic accident. But Jon Reznick isn’t so sure—especially when he learns that his teetotal former colleague was apparently drunk at the wheel.Reznick’s one-man investigation quickly enters dangerous territory when it becomes clear that this was merely the first in a series of mys...
In J.B. Turner's third in the Jon Reznick series, Hard Wired (Thomas & Mercer 2016), Reznick gets a call from an old special forces buddy he hasn't talked to in a while. The man is in a car wreck dying and wants to warn Reznick that someone is after all of them.“They’re here. And they’re going to kill us all."Whoever "them" may be is not immediately clear to Reznick. The police call it an accident, but Reznick doesn't believe them. With another Delta friend, he soon finds what appears to be a re...
This was very short and just a little disappointing. There was no mission per se, just a lot of running around and I have to say that Meyerstein's (FBI) loyalty to Reznick, while admirable, surely could not have survived in the real world.Reznick took a call from one of his Delta buddies saying 'they' were coming to kill them all. It seems one of the missions where a six man team was sent to assassinate a foreign scientist was coming back to haunt them. The man's brother was out for revenge. And...
I liked this book more than the previous two. Reznick is on a hit list and all he wants is to punish those who want to kill him.One thing I find interesting throughout these books is how the government is so against Reznick, and has been from the start. In this book they even want to sacrifice him to keep relations with a particular country above water. I don't think I've seen this facet of the government in other same genre books.
So, I think this was my favorite so far. This one showed that Jon Reznick wasn’t invincible. He did get all the bad guys but was shot in the back in the process. It was about the 6 Delta Force guys that killed a scientist 6 year before and Iran wanted revenge. Reznick was the only one of the six to survive, just barely. As always, there was a lot of chases and killing. And again he worked with Assistant Director Martha Meyerstein. They do make a good team, even if she wants everything done by the...
Hard RoadHard KillHard WiredTrilogy by J.B. TurnerThis engaging series featuring Jon Reznick, a black-ops specialist who takes his orders from shadowy handlers, within the US government. He is a hired killer, who uncovers a plot to de-stabilise the US government. After running from the FBI, he links with FBI Assistant Director Martha Meyerstein, to prevent certain mayhem within the Washington and New York. He remains the only person who knows the true extent of the threat to national security—and...
Not as good as it could beThis is my first read by this author. It read like a Tom Clancy want a be. The plot was thin, and if you blackened all the bad language the dialogue was non existent. I have always felt a good writer can hold the reader's attention with three things:1. A good interesting plot that is NOT solved by the reader in the first three chapters.2. An interesting dialogue. No need for filth to get the point across.3. Interesting characters that become more interesting as the stor...
