I thought this book was better than the first. An overall quickly paced thriller about a possible terrorist plot. A lot of twists to the plot.I listened to the audiobook and it performed well.
The saga of Jon Reznick continues...Another great action thriller featuring Jon Reznick , an ex-special forces operative with an uncanny ability to see through the fog of words and figure out the truth. A diplomat goes missing and the assistant FBI Director Martha Meyerstein asks Jon to join a team to find him. What seems true at first is found to be fed to them to push them in one direction as the truth moves away. The plot is great, with a fast-paced story that builds suspense until the end. L...
Great reading.Lots of fun. Lots of Twists. In line with all Vince Flynn lovers. You have a conspiracy, have an agent that no one will believe in him at the beginning. He is not a superman.
Very good.Very good. Excellent scenes. Great author. Would like to read all of his books. Would wait for new books. Please keep it up.
Thank you to Net Galley, the author and the publishers for an ARC copy for an honest review.Firstly let me explain why 3.5/4 star book.Still very enjoyable, love the main character Jon Reznick and Martha Meyerstein but the story was slightly slower going, a lot of meetings, a lot of surveillance, a lot more "talking" rather than action. An American diplomat goes missing and ex-Special Forces operative Jon Reznick joins a top secret team, led by FBI Assistant Director Martha Meyerstein, to help tr...
I am reading so many thriller series at the minute that they are all starting to merge into one and I’m finding it takes me a little longer to get into these political-based stories than it does a bog-standard crime thriller. That said once I’m into them I am hooked and Hard Kill was an immensely enjoyable read. Jon Reznick is not dissimilar to others in the genre but he’s a really likeable character who, like most thriller characters can often look back at the end of a story with a big ‘I told
3.5 StarsHard Kill was another exciting read in the Jon Reznick series with an intriguing plot that never lets up.When an American diplomat goes missing, FBI Assistant Director Martha Meyerstein is in charge of putting together a team to find him. Jon Reznick, feeling he needs to repay Martha after the debacle in Florida, agrees to join the team to help locate the diplomat. While the team focuses on a terrorist group as being the possible kidnappers, Jon focuses on a Washington DC surgeon believ...
Another exciting story about Jon Reznick helping the FBI catch a killer. Unfortunately, this book made a lot of the politicians in our government look really bad. AND the killer ended up getting away. Maybe he’ll show up in another book.Reznick worked with Martha Meyerstein again but I gotta say no one seems to sleep in these books. Reznick is forever popping Dexedrine and he and Martha drink tons of coffee, as if that’s the cure for never needing sleep. It’s really kind of silly. Also, one revie...
Subtle and insubstantial, the expert leaves no trace; divinely mysterious, he is inaudible. Thus he is the master of his enemy’s fate. – “The Art of War” by Sun Tzu.When a senior security advisor in Washington on the Persian Gulf goes missing. FBI Assistant Director Martha Meyerstein leads a special access program to track him down - amid a media blackout - to prevent classified information falling into the wrong hands. She demands that former Delta-force operative and one-time assassin, Jon Rez...
Wow, having just finished this I feel exhausted. I have read book 2 straight off the back of book 1, which I personally like to do occasionally. Jon Reznick is our leading man and as an Ex-Delta Force guy he is no idiot. After book 1 Jon is taking some time out when he receives the nod from FBI Assistant Director Martha Meyerstein that he is 'needed'. He once again puts his visit to his daughter on hold and goes to see what Meyerstein needs from him. When a Senior Security Adviser goes missing Jo...
The opening seemed hollow to me. Who is this guy who's gone missing? Why do I care? What are the stakes? For too long, the only answer is a vague concern about national security; not until much later does a picture start to develop. And even once things pick up, it's all action and no depth, nothing to make the story - or the characters - stand out. The first novel, while not a new favorite, at least made me want to read more about Jon Reznick. I can't say the same about this one.(review copy re...
They don’t get any better. This is the second I’ve read in the series, because apparently I like to torment myself with repetitive phrasing, poor editing and plots so far fetched that the books could almost make a success of themselves in the fantasy genre. What with all the sighing [72 sighs, 16 of which were “long”] and bridge of the nose pinching [5 times] and cheeks being blown out [9 times], there was hardly enough time for anyone to say “Goddamn.” Oh no, wait, my bad... it was uttered 39 t...
I've read the reviews and I have to agree. This is not a huge page turner..seemed kind of rushed. There wasn't much suspense. No heart pounding or heart racing. This was more surveillance. No much drama. I found it....kind of bland. I don't think I'll read the next one. I might have to stop reading book series type books LOL. Not having good luck with a book series. Its like the first book is amazing and then they drop off on the second.
