It’s very informative, not romanticized but gives a lot of accurate information for the institute of marriage.
An excellent work of young adult non-fiction that covers the history and customs associated with weddings. It’s evenhanded and discusses the barriers that many people have had in attempting to wed their chosen partner, with an American focus. (Barriers to marriage for couples outside the US aren’t really gone into detail, but I’m assuming it’s written for a US audience and kept brief for young readers) A nice touch is the author’s inclusion of forced marriages and the dangers of child marriage.
