Great educational book for homeschoolers. My 3rd grade boy loved reading it and he's not a reader. It kept his interest and made him look forward to others in the series.
Basic information and illustrations
An engaging science book about cell biology in the form of a graphic novel. The subject material parallels some of the genetics and cell biology covered in sixth grade science, so this book would be a useful adjunct to the school material. A fun book about cell biology. I just wish it was longer.
Normally the Max Axiom books clarify the science topic written about pretty well, this one wasn't as helpful for me. I think it probably had more to do with just how complicated cells are, and "dumbing" it down can only go so far. From this I learned becoming a scientist was not for me! My brain cells are not numerous enough.
I learned that all animals start with one cells. And the cells reproduce as they get older. And the same with humans.
The artwork is appealing in this book. However I found there was not much of a story to accompany the facts about cells. Really seems more like an illustrated textbook.
