Taking the Charge: A Medium Rare Plan To Solve Basketball's Problems

Taking the Charge: A Medium Rare Plan To Solve Basketball's Problems

Chris O'Brien
0/5 ( ratings)
What if the NBA had 22 teams instead of 30?
What if the age limit was 21 instead of 18?
What if 40-year-old veterans could suit up for their college alma maters?

Taking the Charge begins by looking at the 2016 Golden State Warriors, the newest NBA Super Team, and asking the question, “Does the league have enough superstars to go around?” If not, maybe its time to make a few changes.

This essay explores a series of "What Ifs" creating an enjoyable, somewhat serious proposal for how to solve a few of basketball's problems. The solutions may never actually happen in this life time, but the author hopes you will enjoy the ride and then ultimately come up with your own set of Medium Rare solutions.

*Editing note: Toward the end of the book is a story about Moses Malone choosing between college and pros. It should read "The Breaks of the Game" does a good job mapping this out, but for some reason the heading for "WNBA rim height" picked up instead. Will try to update file soon.
