In Their Prime: What if Hollywood put old movie stars in new films?

What if Hollywood put old movie stars in new films? Even old movie stars who have passed away.

What if instead of using motion capture technology to turn someone into an Avatar, or like they did with Gollum in Lord of the Rings, what if the director instead put this footage on a CGI version of an old star; like John Wayne or Audrey Hepburn. With this type of technology, old movie stars would never die, they would always remain in their prime.

This short story follows two young movie producers, who failed out of UCLA, but are now making a fortune from these types of movies. Their latest one has hit a bit of a hiccup as Robert Redford refuses to join the cast. But the producers ask themselves, "Can't we still make a movie starring the 1967 version of Robert Redford even if the modern-day Robert Redford isn't on board?"

I wrote this back in 2010 and wanted to re-release it after seeing the technology getting closer to this all becoming a reality. Star Wars already pulled this technology off with the CGI version of Peter Cushing in Rogue One. Sly Stallone hinted at bringing back a CGI version of Apollo Creed in Creed 2. And Fast and Furious did their tribute scene to Paul Walker.
