Awful. Artwork was ok (nothing great), and the written dialoge was horrible! Why use Deadpool's name in the title when that charcter was dropped out after the 2nd adventure? Lame. The Marvel editor for this project should had been fired. I want my money back!
Deadpool was in two issues. Loved the changes in characters, but this messed up coherent story
Laborious to wade through. Deadpool gets star billing here, despite only showing up in the first couple of issues included. The remainder is a confused storyline in which Stephen Strange does something or other and Dr. Anthony Druid takes over the running of the Defenders, who become a mystical team that...well, by the end we've had a convoluted plot, much old-fashioned dialogue, and an epic battle against an Eldritch Abomination...that just sort of lies flat. Not worth spending money on, frankly...
Don’t get it for Deadpool... Better to but the volume of Deadpool classic that includes those issues.
It's called "Deadpool & the Secret Defenders," but it's really The Secret Defenders, in which Deadpool gets roped in for a single issue. Bogus overuse of the Deadpool brand to market a crappy book, and I bought it. Damn.
This was fun. The team changes up, but the fun doesn't stop.
Even with a Defender team make-up that looks as good as this on paper - including Deadpool, Archangel, U.S Agent, Deathlok etc. continually changing the line-up doesn't work for this series at all! My original review written as I read this in 2017 was - 25 issues of naked money grabbing with 'cool' guest stars most issues including Wolverine, and The Punisher early on. The second half of the series gets caught up in Dr Druid and some ongoing mystical and internal battle which just didn't grab my...
One of the worst series I’ve ever read. Avoid it like covid-19. Sorry. Had to. No one will read this review anyway.
My copy was Deadpool and the Secret Defenders. This is a horrible production as it features Deadpool on the cover, Deadpool Classic in the ads, and Deadpool logos as the filler pages. Yet of the 11 issues, Deadpool is in 2 issues of 11 collected.Luge Cage, Iron Fist & the Secret Defenders is a more fair title (though those two are never together n this volume).Honestly the focus is Dr. Druid and his misc guests of the month, of which Deadpool actually was one.The stories are different and a nice
Should have passed on this one. Deadpool was only in the first part and I'd already read it somewhere else. The rest of it was boring.
