Step- by-Step Mentoring is a book that outlines the last 50 years of work and research in mentoring. The book combines that into a well conceived introduction to the topic of structured mentoring and then seven chapters each of which represents the steps that comprise the Step by Step Mentoring approach. This power of this method of structured mentoring was proven by the results of 5 one year programs wherein the satisfaction rate averaged 95% and the majority of the participants were promoted within one year of completing the program. Our approach focuses not only the necessary insight and skills to further develop but also the insights into politics and culture which must also be taken into account as one plans to ascend in his/her organization. The book includes steps for training and selection of both mentors and protégés, and the basic structure of the program including the additional support needed to handle the details. The book also provides extensive detail on the successful execution of each step of this seven step mentoring program.
