The novella, The Niger’ Sings a Mighty Song, centers on the journey of a young man, Kwento, which means protect our name from destruction, who left his family, his loved one and his village for the road of discovery and understanding before he returns home and is anointed king. Unfortunately, his road led him to uncertainty and hopelessness as he encounters deceit and hate. Kwento becomes a victim lost in despair, until a stranger reawakens his purpose in life.

Physically weak and in excruciating pain, he flees by diving into the welcoming waters of the mighty Niger. Soon the sound of tribal drums singing their sounds down the Niger, rekindle the true purpose of his life: Helping his village learn from his exploits and the wisdom that he shares with the new king and finding peace if only he can make it in time.
